Olestar 4 is the second SUV model in Polestar's product system. The size of the Polestar 4 combines the aerodynamic characteristics of the coupe model with the advantages of the large space of the SUV model. At the same time, Polestar 4 is also Polestar’s fastest model to date from research and development to mass production, and it applies many design elements on the Polestar Precept concept car for the first time. Polestar 4 will debut in the Chinese market and is scheduled to be put into production in November 2023 at the Hangzhou Bay Factory, which has Geely's most advanced production facilities and uses 100% renewable electricity.
Polestar 4 is a medium-sized coupe SUV developed based on the SEA architecture of Geely Holding. Its wheelbase reaches 2,999 mm, and the length, width and height of the body reach 4,839 mm, 2,139 mm (including rearview mirrors) and 1,544 mm. The spacious cockpit greatly improves the space experience when passengers sit in the back row. The rear seats with adjustable backrests allow the passengers to be wrapped in a highly immersive environment. The brightness-adjustable star-track ambient lights in the car are inspired by the solar system, allowing drivers and passengers to freely customize the cabin atmosphere.
The ultra-long panoramic glass canopy that comes standard on Polestar 4 can be equipped with an optional EC light-sensing function, which can be switched between transparent and opaque according to different needs. The rear windshield adopts an evolutionary design, allowing the glass canopy to extend all the way behind the heads of the rear passengers, creating a transparent interior space. At the same time, Polestar 4 is also equipped with multimedia and air conditioning control auxiliary screens for rear passengers to facilitate their control.
Polestar 4 is the model with the strongest acceleration performance in the history of the Polestar brand. It can accelerate from 0 to 0 to 100 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The maximum output power is 400 kilowatts. It uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor.
For the Chinese market, the 102 kWh and 88 kWh battery packs correspond to the long-range and standard-range Polestar 4 respectively. Among them, the dual-motor long-range version can output a peak power of 400 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 686 Nm, and can achieve a cruising range of up to 631 kilometers under CLTC operating conditions*. At the same time, it can disconnect the front motor when needed to maximize range and improve energy efficiency.
The long-range and standard-range versions of the Polestar 4 single-motor are equipped with a motor in the rear with an output power of 200 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 343 Nm, which can achieve a maximum length of 709 kilometers and 628 kilometers respectively under CLTC operating conditions* battery life performance.
